Anybody catch this on Sky Doc? Its a 6 part documentary on the McDonalds monopoly fraud of the 1990's.
Its a pretty good watch in my book

I remember when i was 18 promising some little nitty out of Leytonstone that I had the "Mayfair" at my drum.. only to finger it and fuck it off claiming I couldn't find it.

The Monopoly fraud was rife even amongst store managers and staff if you knew the right people and also worked certain shifts where deliveries arrived. I was a floor manager at McDonalds between 92 and 95 and when deliveries arrived at that time there wasn't a proper audit or stuff would just 'go missing'
Each sleeve of monopoly cards held about 5000 cards and it was common practice that certain members of staff (me included) would go home with a few hundred cards stuffed into a bag at the end of the shift.
The horrible thing about it although being theft is that I didn't win anything of real value. The best I had was a CD player and a £50 HMV voucher. Of course I had to ask a friend to claim them as I was an employee and we were not eligible to take part.
One member of staff I worked with won £2k but no major prizes such as big hoilidays, cars etc.
I would imagine procedures have been tightened up a lot more these days
